Pink Floyd: "Another Brick in the Wall"

Pink Floyd sort Another Brick in the Wall en Angleterre, pour le label Harvest, en novembre 1979. Le titre sera numéro 1 le 15 décembre, pendant cinq semaines.

La chanson, qui fait partie de l'album-concept "The Wall", est composée de trois parties distinctes autour d'un même thème musical: Part I, Part II et Part III.
Elle a été enregistrée entre avril et novembre, et a été composée par le chanteur du groupe Roger Waters.

La chanson raconte la construction du mur derrière lequel s'enferme Pink, le personnage central de l'album. Les briques du mur sont les événements survenus dans sa vie qui l'ont poussé à bâtir cette protection autour de lui: dans la première partie, il s'agit de la mort de son père pendant la seconde guerre mondiale.
La deuxième partie critique les règles rigides dans les écoles et les internats pendant les années 50. Grâce à sa parution en single, c'est la plus connue des trois parties du morceau.
Dans la troisième partie, Pink finit son mur et s'y enferme, s'isolant ainsi complètement du reste du monde.
